Hydrotherapy
Water therapy, also called hydrotherapy, combines the benefits of healing, relaxing warm water with a non-weight-bearing environment.
Nearly all musculoskeletal conditions can benefit from gentle exercises performed in warm water. It adds buoyancy, allowing you to move in ways that may be difficult on land. Floats and bands can be added, increasing resistance and improving the strength of your muscles and your cardiovascular health with no fear of falling or injury.
The Many Benefits of Hydrotherapy
Conditions that often respond well to hydrotherapy include:
• Arthritis
• Back and neck pain
• General strengthening, flexibility, fitness and balance retraining
• Post-op joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder)
• Post-op orthopaedic surgery
• Post-op spinal surgery
• Shoulder pain and stiffness
• Sporting injuries rehabilitation
Our hydrotherapy programmes are in a heated pool with the supervision of a physiotherapist who is experienced in water-based exercise prescription. To determine if it’s right for you, we’ll give you a full assessment. Once we know that your condition is suitable, our physiotherapist will take you through an individualised, water-based rehabilitation program just for you.
Each session is an hour long. You’ll sign in at the front desk by the pool area and pay your fee via the Move Well Clinic running the program.
At Move Well Physiotherapy, you are in good hands.
